Staying Centered: 3 Breathing Techniques to Keep You Balanced After Your Craniosacral Session

After a blissful craniosacral session, it’s all too easy to slip back into the whirlwind of daily life. The relaxation and balance you’ve achieved can be overshadowed by the chaos that awaits. But don't worry! Here are three of my favorite breathing techniques to help you maintain that serene state of mind, even amid life's demands.

 Grounding Breaths 🌱

How to do it:

- Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of 3.

- Hold that breath for another count of 3.

- Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of 3.

Repeat: 3-5 times.

Why it works: These grounding breaths help anchor you to the present moment, allowing you to feel stable and connected. A great way to start your day or find your center during stressful moments!

 Relaxing Breaths🧘‍♀️

How to do it:

- Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of 3.

- Exhale gently through your mouth for a count of 6.

Repeat: 5-10 times.

Why it works: This technique is fantastic for calming your body. The longer exhale, encourages your system to shift from a state of stress (sympathetic) to relaxation (parasympathetic).

Humming 🌟

How to do it:

- Inhale deeply through your nose.

- Exhale through your mouth while humming for the duration of your exhalation.

- Take 1-2 normal breaths and repeat the cycle.

Repeat: 3-5 times.

Why it works: The vibrations from humming stimulate the vagus nerve, which plays a key role in regulating your "rest and digest" response. This technique not only calms the mind but also brings a joyful element to your breathing practice!

Incorporating these techniques into your daily routine can be a game-changer. Whether you’re facing a busy day, dealing with stressful situations, or simply wanting to maintain a sense of peace, these breathing exercises can help you reconnect with that balanced state you experienced during your craniosacral session. Enjoy your journey to relaxation!
